Porque
My wife Emiliana and I really got into this excellent story through the first 56 episodes, Mui Bueno, BUT then Netflix changed all the main actors.... DELICADO KILLED THE SERIES FOR ME. Porque Seniors, que esta tu problema? You ruined the whole story line for us. All you had to do was to make the actors appear older. At the time of the 1959 Communist takeover of Cuba, Sonora Matancera was touring in Mexico, and members of the band decided to leave Cuba for good even if the Netflix version was not accurate it was close to the truth. Cilia decided that crossing into the United States instead of returning to their homeland was better. I liked the original Pedro Knight, he had a great personality that was likable and he was funny, the replacement actor did well enough but it was never the same.

Really enjoying it.
PLEASE read the opening credits so that you will know this is NOT an actual biography of Celia Cruz? Even with this being said I am really enjoying the series, and it is getting more interesting as it moves along. Jeimy Osorio is doing a good job and I think Celia would be proud of her, the other cast members performances are extremely moving as well (Modesto Lacen as Pedro Knight, Carolina Gaitan as Lola Calvo,Brenda Hanst as Ana, Indhira Serrano as Mirelys, Luciano D'Alessandro as Alberto Blanco just to name a few). Even though it's NOT Celia's biography, the performances are good (some outstanding), but it would have been a little bit better to get Celia's still living husband's take on some of what's being presented (if he didn't have any that is). Feel sorry about her Mom and didn't know she (Celia) died without ever being able to go back to Cuba (according to Wikipedia). She really was one talented lady. Can't wait to see how this ends.
Unwatchable.
I am a big fan of Celia Cruz. I loved her. She was a unique world-class talent. I don't know where to sta Cuban singer of several musical genres: boleros, guarachas and Latin soul in particular La Lupe La Lupe performing in 1970 Musical artist Guadalupe Victoria Yolí Raymond (23 December 1939 – 29 February 1992), better known as La Lupe, was a Cuban singer of boleros, guarachas and Latin soul known for her energetic, sometimes controversial performances. Following the release of her first album in 1961, La Lupe moved from Havana to New York and signed with Tico Records, which marked the beginning of a prolific and successful career in the 1960s and 1970s. She retired in the 1980s due to religious reasons. La Lupe was born in the barrio of San Pedrito in Santiago de Cuba. Her father was a worker at the local Bacardídistillery and a major influence on her early life. In 1954 she participated on a radio program which invited fans to sing imitations of their favorite stars. Lupe escaped from school to sing a bolero of Olga Guillot's, called "Miénteme" (Lie to Me), and won the competition. The family moved to Havana in 1955, where she was enrolled at the University of Havana to become a teacher. She admired Celia Cruz and like her, she graduated from teaching instruction before starting her professional singing career. Lupe married in 1958 and formed a musical trio with her husband Eulogio "Yoyo" Reyes and another female singer. This group, Los Tropicuba, broke up along with her marriage in 1960. She began to perform her own act at a small nightclub in Havana, La Red (The Net), which had a clientele 22/06/2022 On June 22 at 10:00 a.m., READ will officially present the “READ Design Code of Ethics” at Agora Valencia, which will be attended by representatives from the education, business and institutional sectors to put on the table the different visions of its application. For TV series of Spain, see Celia (Spanish TV series). Celia is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by Fox Telecolombia for RCN Televisión and Telemundo which is based on the life of Cuban singer Celia Cruz. The telenovela's theme "La Negra Tiene Tumbao" received an award for Television Theme Song of the Year, at the 2016 American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Awards. Celia tells the story of one of the legends of Latin music and her major international career: Celia Cruz. We know the beginnings of her passion for singing in Cuba starting in 1950, and her recognition as the most decisive singer of La Sonora Matancera. Leaving Cuba with her future husband Pedro Knight, a trumpeter with La Sonora Matancera, the series follows her departure from Cuba to Mexico soon after the Castro revolution took control of the island in 1959. The series then showcases her subsequent move to New York City, and follows her early days there, and then how her career conquered markets in other languages as she became one of the most recognized Salsa singers of all time. She honored the musical genre with her signature phrase "Azucar" (Sugar). The series showcases her love and longing for her Cuban country, always hoping that a positive change would come during her lifetime. Celia Cruz has become an invaluable legacy in the world in which she was renowned internationally as the "Queen of Salsa", "La Guarachera de Cuba", as well as "The Queen of Latin Music."
