There are two musical projects behind this moniker. One is an Electro-Funk/Electro-HipHop Artist having released two 12" in the mid 80's, the other is the following Eurodance production team:

Captain Jack was a German Eurohouse/pop production team formed in Germany in 1996, fronted by core member, songwriter and vocalist Francisco Alejandro Gutierrez (born February 19, 1962 in Havana, Cuba – died October 22, 2005 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain) who adopted the stage name Franky Gee. The original female vocalist on the group's first two albums was Liza Da Costa, who attempted a solo career after leaving the Captain Jack team. She was replaced in 1999 by Maria Lucia 'Maloy' Lozanes, who in turn was replaced by Ilka-Anna-Antonia Traue (stage name: Illi Love) in 2001. Singer Sunny was the final female singer with Captain Jack.

The gimmick to Captain Jack's music (and Franky Gee's persona) was that of military training. Franky's costume consisted of a stylized military general's uniform, with a red hat based on that of the US Marines. Gutierrez chose this gimmick because of his service in the United States Army, a career he despised but was forced to follow when he was strapped for cash. After ending his time in the US Army, Gutierrez remained in Germany, where he was last stationed, and began a recording career under the name Westside.

While recording music under that name, he proposed the idea of a dance track based on a drill routine. That idea became his style: songs about peace and love in the style of a military regime, in protest against his years in the US Army. The hat—a US Marines "barracks cover" hat, in the color scheme evoking the Soviet Red Army—further protests the idea of the military, while symbolizing the idea of national unity. I have two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan spanning 21 months, and an operational deployment to Incirlik, TUR for two months.

Illi Love biography

Real name : Ilka-Anna-Antonia Traue. After finishing school she started modelling, she's also been coaching "Unter Uns". She's been Captain Jack's new female vocalist between 2000 and 2005. According to rumors, she did not actually sing. However she was credited on the singles.

2003 : Illi Love got a role in the TV-serie Ein Fall für Zwei. She also played in Der kleine Zauberer and Verbotene Liebe, did a advert spot for the Lufthansa and another one for the Dresdner Bank-Spot, in collaboration with Günter Netzer.

I was born and raised in the heart of Chicago and grew up a very outgoing and active child. Always staying proactive, I ventured into a lot of different activities to show my talent. I was a part of the beta team in my early elementary school years. In high school, I joined a group called Focus that opened the door for mentoring and helping others at an early age. I was also a part of a CPS group called Harris Fellows, which helped develop pilot programs related to high school academics. As part of this group, I traveled to various schools, many of them outside of Illinois, to study student issues. Our objective was to gain a better understanding of how programs could be developed to best solve student needs.

I have frequently used my creativity to bring a lot of entrepreneurial ideas to life. I started a group called One Mic, an organization where friends, young adults, artists and older adults come to discuss their deepest and most inspirational ideas. Participants are free to express themselves both verbally and artistically.

I aspire to receive a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Chicago State University. My major is accounting. I want to become an entrepreneur so that I can take my many talents to the next level and take control of my economic future. My desire is to reach toward a higher standard and prove to myself that I have the talent and skills to realize my dreams, while also setting a positive example for those that come behind me.
