Daniel beliavsky biography
The American pianist, Daniel Beliavsky, holds degrees from Columbia College and New York University (Ph.D).
Daniel Beliavsky began performing publicly at age 8, playing with his father, violinist Yuri Beliavsky (born in Moscow, USSR in ) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He began his professional performance career at the age of 15, when Zdenek Macal invited him to perform Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra during the opening concerts of the subscription season. Since then, Daniel has been engaged numerously as a soloist with orchestra (such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra) and in recital in both the USA (such as Milwaukee and Chicago) and Europe. He has played twice in Russia in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and has recorded a compact-disc with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. With orchestra, he has performed various concerti including Franz Liszt No. 1, Sergei Rachmaninov No. 2, Scriabin, Prokofiev No. 4 (left hand), Ravel (left hand), Gershwin in F, and L.v. BeethovenNo. 5, "Emperor."
Schooled in the Classical and Romantic genres of piano music, Daniel Beliavsky has focused on performing the standard repertoire with fresh vigor and excitement. Some of his repertoire's highlights include Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and works by Frédéric Chopin and Johannes Brahms. In the words of one reviewer, "Beliavsky was absolutely thrilling…he enabled his listeners to hear this familiar work [Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1] as if for the first time.
