Reality show, Life Bina Wife, an Indian adaptation of the Canadian show, The Week The Women Went, will replace MasterChef India in Saturday-Sunday 9 pm slot, tentatively in the last week of December or the first week of January. The channel, along with BBC Worldwide Entertainment, has started working on the show, which is apparently being shot in Pune and will have a limited 16-episode run.

It’s also learnt that Mini Mathur and Cyrus Sahukar will be anchoring the show, which would feature 10 real life couples and celebrities as guests. The relationshi-based show toys with the idea of men running the kitchen when the women suddenly go missing. The Week The Women Went, produced by Paperny Films, has had a two season run so far. It was based on a BBC Three program of the same title. The show first aired on CBC Television in Canada on January 21, 2008, and concluded on March 10, 2008. The second season was shot in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, from September 8 to September 15, 2008, and began airing on January 21, 2009.

While the spokespersons from BBC remained unavailable, Monica Sheirgill, senior creative director, Star Plus, confirms the news: “It fits into our new brand ideology. The slice-of-life show challenges gender stereotypes. Our intention is to make men understand the value of the female par
