Vietnamese mechanical/materials scientist
Nguyen Dinh Duc (Nguyễn Đình Đức) (born 1963) is a Vietnamese scientist and currently serves as full professor, the member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (2024-2029), former first the Chairman of the University Council at the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He has made significant contributions in the field of new materials, particularly composites, Advanced Materials and Structures, .
Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc is the Vice-president of the Vietnamese Association of Mechanics and President of the Network Club for Ensuring the Quality of Higher Education in Vietnam. He is known for his contributions in the field of new materials and as an influential scientist in the international community; He has been a mentor to many accomplished Vietnamese students over the years.
Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc also is an excellent education expert. He had proposed many policies to innovate the Vietnamese higher education system and VNU Hanoi to integrate with international standards.
Biography
Nguyen Dinh Duc was born in his maternal hometown of Lai Xa village, Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district (former Ha Tay province), now part of Hanoi. Lai Xa is known as a land of learning and is the birthplace of Vietnam's first Minister of Education, Professor Nguyen Van Huyen, and renowned astronomer Professor Nguyen Quang Rieu. The region is also famous for its traditional photography trade, with Khanh Ky being honored as the ancestor of Lai Xa photography. He once went to France to open a photography studio and taught photography to Ho Chi Minh during his time in Paris. His paternal hometown is Hue Tri village, An Phu commune, Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong province.

Nguyen Dinh Thang - a typical businessman with a journey of overcoming difficulties and steadfastness in creating a career from scratch, is always a shining example for the young generation.
Born in Vinh Loc, Thanh Hoa, on the Ma River, he carried a deep revolutionary tradition from his family. Mr. Nguyen Dan Que, his grandfather, was a famous patriot during the anti-French period, and his family members were all attached to the revolutionary cause. That's why, from a young age, Mr. Thang carried the "gene" of studiousness, patriotism, resilient will and the spirit to rise in all difficult circumstances.

His childhood coincided with the harsh years of escalating warfare in the North due to the fierce bombings by the U.S. Empire. He witnessed the hardships, losses, and tremendous sacrifices of the Vietnamese people during the anti-US war. These painful yet heroic and humane memories became a powerful source to motivate him to assert capabilities and contribute to the nation.
With excellent academic achievements, at 17, he was admitted to the Department of Mathematics and Economics of the University of Economics and Planning (now National Economics University). In accordance with Vietnamese custom, this person should be referred to by the given name, Định. Nguyễn Quốc Định (1916 – 1976) was a Vietnamese professor and politician. He was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam under the premierships of Prince Bửu Lộc and Ngô Đình Diệm. He was born in 1916 in Nam Định, Nam Định province, French Indochina. He defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Toulouse on the subject of Chinese congregations in French Indochina (published in 1941 by Sirey with a preface by Paul Couzinet). Engaged as a volunteer in 1940, he was demobilized and taught at the Faculty of Law of the University of Toulouse from 1942 to 1954. He was the first Vietnamese to be certified in law faculties, in the 1948 competition – he would retain Vietnamese nationality until the end of South Vietnam in 1975. He worked as a professor at the University of Toulouse from 1948 to 1954, then at the Faculty of Law of Caen from 1954 to 1966, finally at that of Paris from 1966 to 1976, where since 1952 he had been in charge of a course on the rights of the peoples of Indochina. Nguyen Quoc Dinh's teachings focused mainly on public international law, but also on social science methods and political sociology. In parallel to his teaching career, Định was politically active in the early fifties, where he was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam (1954) in the last phase of the regime of Emperor Bao Dai. Following this function, he took part in the negotiation – as an adviser in respect of Vietnam – in the 1954 Geneva Conference which put an end to the “first” war in Indochina.
