Zinat Sanu Swagata (Bengali: জিনাত শানু স্বাগতা); better known as Swagata is a Bangladeshi actress, presenter and musician.
Biography
At the age of three and a half years, she entered into the world of acting as a child artist in Linza film. Then, as a child artist, in honor, Satiputra Abdullah and Top Mustaine films. Swagata commenced singing from early childhood. In the Notun Kuri competition, Swagata became first runner up. She completed study in Film and Media Studies at Stamford University Bangladesh
Criticism
Swagata took a stand for the government during the repression of the dictatorship Awami League government on the students in the quota reform movement that took place in 2024. During the movement, a group of pro-autocracy Awami artists, including Swagata, were active against the movement in a WhatsApp group called 'Alo Ashbei' led by actor Ferdous. After the non-cooperation movement, on September 3, 2024, some screenshots related to that WhatsApp group were spread on social media.

On 23 September 2017, Swagata married photographer Rashed Zaman. Rashed Zaman was involved in the filming of the film Aynabaji.

Popular actor, musician and anchor Zinat Sanu Swagata is all set to get married to her long-time beau Dr Hasan Azad this month. On this auspicious occasion, she shared her secrets about being happy in love and life with The Daily Star.
With the recent surge of weddings in the showbiz industry this winter, speculation arose about Swagata's marital plans.
Addressing the speculation, Swagata warmly confirmed, "Actually, yes. The date is not fixed yet, but I am getting married within this month for sure. We want to invite our closest people, and ask for their blessings and love on our big day."
Swagata's groom-to-be, Dr Hasan Azad, has completed his PhD from Columbia University, New York, USA and is a businessman by profession. "Apart from that, he is an artiste as well. He sings and writes," said ecstatic Swagata.
"Hasan is a wonderful human being. He always stands by the truth and scorns the bad; that is what I like most about him," emphasised the actress.
"Another thing that makes me like him more is the fact that he is the biggest supporter of everything that I do as an artiste. As I have been professionally working as a singer, and actor in the media industry since childhood, it's pretty important to find a person who supports you. I get that support and love from Hasan."
"We are also great friends. I can share everything with him. Let me share a story: once Hasan recited the first page of his first written book to me, and it remained as one of my most precious memories of us together," Swagata enumerated while sharing one of their most loving memories together.
"I wish life remains beautiful. I want to lead a beautiful and happy life with my loved ones. I want to go forward in life together with my family and loved ones. That is my only wish and aspiration," concluded the actress while expressing her aspirations for her new journey.

Swastika Mukherjee (born 13 December 1980) is an Indian actress who mainly appears in Bengali and Hindi films and television. She is the daughter of actor Santu Mukhopadhyay. Throughout her career, she received various accolades including four Filmfare Awards East (including a record of three wins and five nominations for Best Actress), one WBFJA, one Anandalok Award and one Kalakar Award.
Mukherjee made her screen debut with Devdasi, a Bengali TV series. She made her big screen debut with Hemanter Pakhi (2001). Her first leading role came with Mastan (2004), opposite Jeet. She made her Hindi film debut with Mumbai Cutting (2008).
Early life
Mukherjee spent her childhood in a self described "simple life" with her father Santu Mukhopadhyay, younger sister Ajopa, and mother Gopa. Her favourite films were Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. She was educated at Carmel School, Kolkata, St. Teresa's Secondary School, and Gokhale Memorial School. Post-Graduation in History at Jadavpur University.
Personal life
In 1998 at the age of 18, she married Promit Sen, son of Rabindra Sangeet singer Sagar Sen. The marriage was an unhappy one and lasted two years. Swastika accused Promit of physically abusing her and locking her out of their home when she was pregnant. She filed a charge against him for cruelty and solicitation of dowry. These charges were subsequently dismissed and Promit was acquitted.
Swastika later filed an affidavit in court stating that her accusations were 'unfounded, false, baseless and speculative,' before confessing in a media conference that they were false. Consequently, Promit's brother sued her for damages in Calcutta High Court and she was held liable for ₹7.7 crore ($1.7 million). According to Mukherjee, Sen filed
Look out for Shagota
Shagota has been shooting for TV plays slated for release on Eid. On a more exciting note, the actor has recently returned from Nepal that was the location of a six episode TV play and a telefilm. Both are directed by Sakhawat Manik.
In the TV play, Shagota appears as a married woman who faces trials and tribulations on her trip to Nepal with her husband. The yet to be titled play is currently under post-production. In the telefilm, titled “Bhalobashar Ghran,” the actor will appear alongside Zahid Hasan.
In Bangladesh, Shagota has teamed up with director Salauddin Lavlu in a TV play titled “Bhebe Chinte Prem.” Shooting has begun in Pubail.
The actor stated, “Six years ago, I worked under Salauddin Lavlu in a TV play titled, 'Ustadji.' And now I am working with him again for this play which will be aired on Eid.”
The actor will also appear in another yet to be titled six-episode TV play directed by Shumon and filmed in Old Dhaka. “My experience in this TV play has been extremely enjoyable, and I had fun playing a girl from Old Dhaka,” said Shagota.
Aside from acting, Shagota will also make an appearance in an entertainment show to be aired by ATN Bangla during Eid, hosted by Shahriar Nazim Joy.
During the Eid festivities Shagota will travel to Qatar for three days where she will perform in a show.
