Melissa María Jiménez Dionisio (born in Liège, Belgium on 26 June 1987) is a Spanish sports journalist working for DAZN.
Biography
Melissa Jimenez is the daughter of Antonio Jimenez, (son of Spanish emigrants and born in Granada in 1963) and Luciana Dionisio (Italy). She has a younger sister named Sara. At the age of 2 years old, she moved to Barcelona, since her father was starting to work in the motorcycle world championship under the orders of JJ Cobas.
She grew up in a very small town 60 km from Barcelona and always went to the races with her father whenever she could. Since she was a child she knew she wanted to work in the MotoGP World Championship. She studied Communication Sciences in Barcelona and did an internship at Onda Rambla. She spent two years working both on the radio and in 25TV and after finishing her degree she moved to Madrid, where she began to collaborate with MarcaTV. A year and a half later SKY Italia offered her to broadcast motorcycles with them and she went to Milan, commented some pre-season training sessions and worked as head of press for the "Forward Racing" Moto2 team. In 2013 Mediaset España gave her the opportunity to return to Spain to join their sports newsroom.
In 2013 she joined Mediaset España's motorcycle broadcasting team as a commentator in the paddock, replacing Lara Álvarez. Two years later, Jiménez announced through her Instagram account Filipino actress and singer Melizza Jaune Rivera Tanpoco (born August 3, 2000), better known as Melizza Jimenez, is a Filipino actress, singer, songwriter, content creator, and business owner. She is mostly known for playing Elle in the first season of He's Into Her, Michelle in Gen Z, and Macky in Barcelona: A Love Untold. In 2015, Jimenez tried her luck to audition for Pinoy Big Brother with her real-life sister, Filipino tennis player, model and actress Maika Rivera. Unfortunately, she didn't pass the show's final audition, but she was advised by the ABS-CBN producers to try out for Star Magic Circle, and became an artist trainee of Star Magic since then. In 2016, Jimenez made her acting debut as she took on the role of Macky Dela Torre in the romance-drama film Barcelona: A Love Untold directed by Olivia Lamasan, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. She has also taken roles in Wansapanataym: Tikboyong as Wendy and in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano as Sally. In 2019, Jimenez graduated from high school in Colegio San Agustin – Makati. On that same year, she became part of the year's batch of artists launched in the Star Magic Circle together with Kyle Echarri, Belle Mariano, Sophie Reyes, Jeremiah Lisbo, Gillian Vicencio, Arielle Roces, Arabella del Rosario, Anthony Jennings, JC Alcantara, Glen Vargas, Kendru Garcia, Eisel Serrano, RA Lewis, Javi Benitez, and Aiyana Waggoner. Soon after, Jimenez landed the role of Sonya, a friend and ally of the rich-spoiled brat Luna Dela Cuesta (played by Alexa Ilacad) in drama series The Killer Bride, the drama series. In November of the same year, Jimenez took part of the then upcoming iWantTFC original series He's Into Her, starring Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, directed by Melissa Jiménez is a singer from Fort Lee, New Jersey who is currently a contestant on season six of The Voice. Melissa was introduced to music through her father's orchestra. At age 12, she had the opportunity to sing with them and then went on to pursue a solo career. She's had some success singing with Wyclef Jean, but she has yet to break out on her own. The Voice is her opportunity to share her music with the world. Melissa Jiménez auditioned for The Voice with Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You", singing the first chorus a cappella. She managed to turn two chairs on the last note, and went with Team Usher after he complimented her creative choices. Melissa was paired up against Britnee Camelle for the first Battle Rounds, performing Melanie Fiona's "Give It to Me Right". Usher enjoyed her individual moments, and her ability to show control in her big notes. In the end, Usher chose Melissa to continue to the second round of Battles. Born in New York, Jiménez was raised by her mother of Greek descent Maria and her Mexican father Horacio. Her musical experience started early on, going to studio sessions and rehearsals with her father since she was a baby. At age 14 she joined her father's Big band and orchestra as a vocalist. Shortly thereafter, Melissa began writing songs and learned to accompany herself with the piano. Dancing was a natural skill, and to enhance it she took ballet, jazz, modern dance, African dance, mambo, and hip-hop.
