    George Lopez’s multifaceted career encompasses television, film, standup comedy and late-night television. Lopez is currently on his national standup comedy tour, The Wall World Tour. He recently completed his standup comedy tour, The Comedy Get Down, with Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer. The comedians also debuted a BET scripted comedy series based on the tour.

    Lopez was last seen in the film El Chicano (2019) and recently wrapped shooting crime thriller The Tax Collector and faith-based film Walking with Herb. He starred in and produced the comedy series Lopez on TV Land. For two seasons he hosted Lopez Tonight, a late-night television talk show. It was his return to series television after co-creating, writing, producing and starring in the groundbreaking hit sitcom George Lopez, which ran for six seasons on ABC. George Lopez remains a hit in syndication on both broadcast stations and cable, ranking as one of the top-rated shows on the network and among the top five comedies and top 20 weekly programs in syndication.

    George Edward Lopez (born April 23, 1961) is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He is most known for starring in his self-produced ABC sitcom George Lopez. His stand-up comedy examines race and ethnic relations, including Mexican American culture. Lopez has received several honors for his work and contributions to the Latino community, including the 2003 Imagen Vision Award, the 2003 Latino Spirit Award for Excellence in Television and the National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Award. He was also named one of "The Top 25 Hispanics in America" by Time magazine in 2005.

    George Edward Lopez was born on April 23, 1961, in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, California, the son of Frieda and Anatasio Lopez, a migrant worker. He is of Mexican descent. He was deserted by his father when he was two months old and by his mother when he was 10 years old, and was raised by his maternal grandmother, Benita Gutierrez, a factory worker, and step-grandfather, Refugio Gutierrez, a construction worker. Lopez attended San Fernando High School, graduating in 1979.

    He released his first comedy album, Alien Nation, in 1996. A few years later, in 2001, he released his second album, Right Now Right Now.
